This gives it somewhere to live. The rolled bills tuck into a ring of openings around the base and stand upright in a full circle, and a hand-painted winter character sits on top holding a wrapped present. There are three to choose from. The snowman in a green knit hat and polka dot scarf, carrot nose, coal buttons. The penguin perched on an ice floe in a lavender pom hat and dark red scarf. The polar bear in a blue striped hat, grinning, a bright red bow tucked under one paw. All three sit on a soft blue base that reads snow day rather than any one holiday.

Put it on a windowsill, a kitchen counter, a desk at work. It holds its spot all season instead of getting boxed up with the ornaments. Someone always picks it up first and looks at it a second before they realize what it's holding.

Cut from 1/8 inch premium Baltic birch and hand-painted in our family workshop, one at a time. Slight variations are part of what makes it handmade.
